US Immigration Medical Exam [Aug. 18th, 2007|01:10 pm]
Strangers In a Strange Land

Has anyone here undergone the medical exam required in the Green Card Process? If so, what all is involved in this? Please give details. I have been given the 'go ahead' to get my medical exam done; however, I suffer from anxiety and don't feel comfortable with doctors, so I would like to prepare myself before my appointment.

Thank you in advance.

I had mine in 2002. It's nothing really, just a blood test, um... I think a TB test and not much else.

I do remember it was over in 20 minutes and the doctor gave me the results in an envelope I was not to open. You just give it to the INS... or BCIS or whatever it's called now.

It's all about infectious diseases, AIDS, TB etc. Mine involved a blood test and an urine sample and they made me wait a few days for the results. This was years ago though and took place in Europe so maybe that's different now.
